How Can severe Breast Pain Be Treated?

I have been experiencing low level breast pain for past three days. I asked my md at a dm check up today. She found no lumps, discoloration or other symptoms. I had mamo in Aug 2016. After the mamo I had an ultrasound and then they put markers in the area of question. This is the same breast. My md asked if I would like her to order another mamo. She did not recommend it. Is there any reason for concern. No family hx of breast cx.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a simple mastalgia arising due to hormonal changes.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Mefenamic Acid for pain relief. Nothing much to worry as it will settle by itself in a couple of days.

If symptoms persist better to consult a general surgeon and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
